360Magazine/Maldives
Welcome to 360Magazine/Maldives!
First a small warning. We are currently doing a major update of our website. Everything is being changed and all old content with thousands of 360-images is removed to make room for all new content based on our new design format 360Show. All our new productions will use this format as it is optimized for all major web browsers, including iPhone/iPad and Android devices. It also looks a lot nicer...
We are currently producing in 22 cities all over the world but we want to give you a taste of what it will look like. As all image content will be produced from scratch it will take some time until full functionality is reached.
Today we will only load 3 properties, Conrad Maldives, Hilton Venice and Hilton Madrid to show you what to expect when each destination is "full". Today the category list with hotels, restaurants, bars & clubs and museums is disabled until enough highlighted partners are selected and produced. Please enjoy and send us your feedback...

The Maldives is a paradise for sun lovers and water lovers. There is a large variety of resorts in the Maldives and we will help you with a shortlist selection of the very best.
The Maldives is made up of over 1,000 carol islands with 27 atolls and the unique geographical nature of this small island nation consists of 99% sea with just 1% land. On the map you will notice that the country and the islands are spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometres. From north to south the island stretch over 800 km.
With an average ground level of only 1,5 metres above sea level, it is the planet's lowest country and this is of great concern for the people of the Maldives as the sea level is expected to rise. On 22 April 2008, then President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom pleaded for a cut in global greenhouse gas emissions, warning that rising sea levels could submerge the island nation of the Maldives.
With a population of only 320,000 people the country is one of the smallest independent nations in the world. Most people, almost 100,000 live in the capital Male' and the key source of income is tourism and the fishing industry.
Travelling around the country is an exciting adventure in itself and is done mainly by boat and seaplane. For the remote resorts you simply walk from the arrival terminal to the seaplane terminal.
Maldivian Air Taxi is one of the largest seaplane operators in the world and operates a fleet of 16 to 22 Twin Otters depending on the season. The Twin Otter seaplanes is a rugged construction twin engine, turbo prop aircraft capable of carrying up to 19 passengers. You can contact them via www.maldivianairtaxi.com.
The local language is called Dhivehi but English is widely spoken by Maldivians and visitors can easily make themselves understood. At the resorts a variety of languages are spoken by the staff; amongst them English, German, French, Italian, Chinese and Japanese.
Islam is the key religion for the people of the Maldives and travellers should be observant of cultural and legal differences compared with home.
Most travellers travel straight to the resorts but depending on flight arrangements some travellers stay in Male' overnight. This is also where you will find shops and markets and a variety of restaurants. Many activity operators also have their base in Male'.
On the resorts you also have many different activities such as scuba diving, snorkelling, boat safaris and sailing. Many activity operators have deals with the resorts and services can often be arranged via the resort.
Our first resort to feature in the Maldives is the Conrad Rangali Island. We have produced over 350 different hotels and resorts for the Hilton website and hundreds of other hotels around the world. This resort is however the best property of all we have been at and it is a pleasure to recommend this to anyone looking for a place in paradise.
The attention to detail is impeccable and design and architecture is in perfect balance. The location on 2 private islands with a bridge across is a perfect location in a unique setting.
All the guests we talked with agreed that this was a world class experience and something they never will forget. We have to agree!
You can book directly via the Conrad website but please check our prices too. Via our Expedia partnership we often have special deals at great savings.
We get commissions via Expedia for every booking made and this helps us to expand our 360CityGuide website faster.
We will produce around 20 resorts in the Maldives but you can actually look at them, check prices and make your reservation via our booking website today. As soon as our new 360Show productions are done they will be loaded on 360CityGuide.com.
Please let us know what you think about our 360CityGuide and don't forget to tell us what you think about the resort after you have been there.
Please enjoy our 360Show!
