360Magazine/Madrid
Welcome to 360Magazine/Madrid!
First a small warning. We are currently doing a major update of our website. Everything is being changed and all old content with thousands of 360-images is removed to make room for all new content based on our new design format 360Show. All our new productions will use this format as it is optimized for all major web browsers, including iPhone/iPad and Android devices. It also looks a lot nicer...
We are currently producing in 22 cities all over the world but we want to give you a taste of what it will look like. As all image content will be produced from scratch it will take some time until full functionality is reached.
Today we will only load 3 properties, Conrad Maldives, Hilton Venice and Hilton Madrid to show you what to expect when each destination is "full". Today the category list with hotels, restaurants, bars & clubs and museums is disabled until enough highlighted partners are selected and produced. Please enjoy and send us your feedback...

Madrid is the capital of Spain with 3.3 million people. The entire population of the Madrid metropolitan area is estimated to be over 6 million and it is the third largest city in the European Union, after London and Berlin.
Madrid has big influences in politics, entertainment, media, fashion, science and the arts. All this contribute to its status as one of the world's major metropolitan cities. Due to its economic output, high standard of living, and market size, Madrid is considered the major financial centre of Southern Europe and the Iberian Peninsula. Madrid is also the most touristic city of Spain.
Madrid is a delightful combination of new and old. The modern infrastructure is obvious but Madrid has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighbourhoods and streets.
Madrid's many landmarks include the Royal Palace of Madrid, the Teatro Real (Royal theatre) with its restored 1850 Opera House, and the Buen Retiro park founded in 1631. The 19th-century National Library building founded in 1712 contains some of Spain's historical archives.
Madrid is considered one of the top European cities for art museums. The "Golden Triangle of Art" located along the Paseo del Prado comprise three art museums: Prado Museum, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (a museum of modern art) and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, housed in the renovated Villahermosa Palace.
Nightlife in Madrid is fantastic with something for everyone. The local people usually go out late, around midnight, and most places are open until sunrise. Madrid goes wild each May in honour of the city's patron Saint, San Isidro, with a traditional round of partying, feasting and dancing in the streets that goes on for about 10 days around the designated saint's day, 15 May.
The Madrid region has a Continental Mediterranean climate with cold winters due to high altitude (650 m above sea level). In winter there can be sporadic snowfalls and minimum temperatures often below freezing. Summer tends to be hot with temperatures that consistently surpass 30° C in July and August.
Madrid has the largest bullring, or "Plaza de Toros", in Spain called Las Ventas, established in 1929. Las Ventas is considered by many to be the world centre of bullfighting and has a seating capacity of almost 25,000 people. Madrid's bullfighting season begins in March and ends in October. Las Ventas also hosts music concerts and other events outside of the bullfighting season.
Madrid is home to La Liga football club Real Madrid, who play their home games at the Santiago Bernabéu. Their hometown rivals, Atlético Madrid, are also well supported in the city and they have their own arena, the Vicente Calderón. Fotball is almost like religion to the Spanish people.
Madrid Barajas International Airport Terminal 4 was inaugurated in 2006 and is one of the world's largest terminal areas, with an area of 760,000 square meters in two separate terminals. The new terminal is meant to give passengers a stress-free start to their journey. This is managed through careful use of illumination, available by glass panes instead of walls and numerous domes in the roof which allow natural light to pass through. With the new addition, Barajas is designed to handle 70 million passengers annually.
For an airport hotel the Hilton Madrid Airport hotel is quite unique with a fabulous design and architecture. The location is just minutes from Madrid Barajas International Airport and the IFEMA exhibition center. The shuttle bus service will take you to the airport in minutes. This is clearly the finest airport hotel we have produced and it is a pleasure to feature and recommend on 360CityGuide. If you visit in summer time make sure not to miss the roof top pool.
